Chaplain Dennis Simons has been serving as a Chaplain to Emergency Services Agencies on a full-time basis for 11 years. He comes to this position with a background of 30 years of experience as an ordained minister, serving in the areas of education, counseling and family care.
He is trained in crisis intervention and participates on teams that provide debriefing and defusing after traumatic incidents. He is a member of four professional organizations that provide training and support:
- International Conference of Police Chaplains
- International Federation of Fire Chaplains
- International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
- Association of Trauma Stress Specialists
He now serves four departments in the East County area and acts as Northwest Representative for the International Federation of Fire Chaplains and Chaplain for the Oregon Fire Chiefs' Association.
